Mr. C S Venkata Ratnam, IMI

Dr C S Venkata Ratnam is Director, International Management Institute, New Delhi. Earlier he was professor, Andhra University, Waltair, faculty member, Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad and Professor, International Management Institute, New Delhi for over two decades.
Dr Ratnam has specialized in human resource management and industrial relations and has held numerous consulting assignments for International Labour Organization, Asian Productivity Organization and International Confederation of Trade Unions in various countries in Asia and Europe. He is also a visiting professor at International Institute of Management, University of Graz, Austria and visiting fellow at McGill University, Montreal and Manchester Business School, Manchester.
Dr Ratnam authored several books, including employers dilemma, challenge of change: dynamics of labour management relations in India, managing people, unusual collective agreements and negotiated change and a text book on Industrial Relations published by Oxford University Press. He has specialized in international labour standards and a certified trainer of ILO Turin Centre on freedom of association and collective bargaining and conducted programmes in Turin and several Asian countries.
Dr Ratnam is a member of the HR or IR committees of FICCI, AIEO, SCOPE, CII PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry and secretary Indian Industrial Relations Association and Indian Society of Labour Economics. He was member of the Globalization sub-committee appointed by the 2nd National Commission on Labour. He was elected as executive committee of International Industrial Relations Association, Geneva since 2003.
Dr Ratnam guided 15 persons for Ph.D. He is founder-editor of Global Business Review and a member of editorial board of several professional journals, including Austrialian Journal of Industrial Relations, Indian Journal of Industrial Relations and Review of Market Integration.
In the area of WTO and international trade, Dr Ratnam has specialized in labour and social issues and worked for a number of international organizations.
