The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) contribute to 40% of gross manufacturing output and 34% of India’s exports. During the last four years of 10th five year plan, output of this segment has recorded a real growth of 9 percent annually. In wake of global meltdown, India cannot hope to sustain its growth story and make it socially inclusive without giving a major boost to the MSME sector.
The problems of MSME sector should not be looked as detrimental to economic growth. Instead, it should be looked at as a huge opportunity for large enterprises and the country as a whole. The scope of developing products and solutions for MSME sector is large - innovative financial products to enable easy access to credit, cost effective IT solutions, training and development programs for developing skilled labour and world class management capital, cost effective marketing solutions, support for improving quality standards for opening doors to new international markets.
Keeping these opportunities and challenges in mind, this year’s theme is “My Way, My Vision : From Giant Ideas to Giant Corporations!”
‘My vision’ will see Government bodies, SME Associations and other stakeholders in the SME eco-system describing their vision for the future of SMEs in India.
Corporate India, represented by some of the biggest corporate entities in the nation, will address the road map and share success stories on how companies were built from grassroots to global giants’ status, through the forum of “My way”.
